About Caucasian Shepherd Dog

 Caucasian Shepherd Dog is in my opinion the most complete dog while beautiful and stately, rustic and noble, strong and loving, dominant and protective, but, in the same time, a fierce fighter and true partner to play. A dog who may has kept unaltered most of the peculiarity of its savage ancestors: strength, self-mastery, confidence in their own forces, thus keeping alive that noble and savage "essence" of the Wolf, but remaining at the same time, "man’s best friend ". All these "antagonistic" features make any owner of Caucasian Shepherd Dog to feel that he has in its own yard an exotic, wild, mysterious, powerful friend with a big heart, as large as its size. It is the fruit of hundreds of years of selection, both from the nature through the harsh conditions of the Caucasus Mountains and the empirical selection of shepherds in these mountains. A Spartan selection I could say, because the weak cubs were always eliminated either by the unfavorable conditions of the nature, by parents or by shepherds, so that always remained the most vigorous and resistant dogs. A selection made by the laws of nature which has been pushed even further by the breeders in the past. All these make any Caucasian Shepherd puppy to be borned ready to become alpha male or female. It is a very intelligent dog who, in spite of opinions from "specialists", was designed very well for training. This breed has a quality which I think is unique among all breeds of dog: has a wide variety of genetic characters which can range from length and colors of the hair, size, thickness of bones, etc.., which are still so many characters that we can "juggle" in the breed selection so, always to obtain dogs that are better, more beautiful, more massive, etc.., that depending, of course, on the eyes of the breeder. For this reason the breeding of Caucasian Shepherd Dog may never make you feel bored.
